Acupuncture
With Orthopedic Acupuncture we look at a wide variety of factors to ascertain a specific diagnosis and focus on a root cause of dysfunction. For example, we perform postural assessments and orthopedic tests, evaluate range of motion, and test for strength and weakness. All of this helps us determine any structural imbalances that may contribute to mechanism of injury, pain, or dysfunction.
Part of our goal here is to bring the body back in to proper alignment and balance. Restoring the proper mechanical aspects of the body and combining them with Meridian Therapy and allows us to approach orthopedic issues from a holistic prospective and greatly increase the body's own healing abilities. Even so far as to effect the the function of internal organs.
Meridian Therapy
Meridian Therapy is a practical and consistent treatment system embodying the spirit of of the therapeutic principles outlined in the Classic of Difficulties. The first portion of the treatment is called the root treatment. This involves balancing the meridians to address the systemic condition or "root" of disease in the body. After the meridians are balanced, a symptomatic treatment is added to provide additional relief. Meridian therapy thus addresses the underlying cause of disease and the physical manifestation it may present. In many cases, and is one of our underlying principles, is to address the disease before it becomes symptomatic.
